About
Tournaments that feel like part of the show — from check-in to the final standings.
TopCut is an independent, community-built tournament platform for Pokémon TCG events. It exists to make a local tournament feel professionally run, genuinely exciting, and easy to trust — from the first check-in to the final standings.
It started as a player-and-organiser's answer to the spreadsheets, scattered tools and crowded printouts that grassroots events so often run on. The goal is simple: make running an event calm, and make playing in one feel like part of the show.
What it does
Registration, check-in, Swiss pairings, the round timer, results, drops, Top Cut and standings — by the tournament rules players already know.
Players get pairings, their seat and standings on their phones; the venue display puts the whole event on the big screen.
A live Practice Arena for Pokémon TCG Live and a full deck builder for Standard, Expanded, GLC and Prerelease.
Trophies, badges, XP and league standings are awarded automatically and live on a profile that travels between stores.
TopCut is free during early access — there are no per-event fees and no paid tiers today. It was built by a community member who wanted local events to run better, not to put grassroots play behind a paywall.
If the operating model ever changes, the commitment is to keep grassroots play accessible and to be upfront about it.
TopCut is in controlled early access. It already runs friendly community events from start to finish, and new capabilities ship regularly. A few things — like guided Learn to Play — are still on the way and are clearly marked as coming soon.
For sanctioned Play! Pokémon events, the official tools remain the source of truth where they're required; TopCut is an independent community layer alongside them.
TopCut is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Pokémon Company International, Nintendo, or any other rights-holder, and it is not a source of official rulings, policy or card legality.
Its visual identity is original, and it does not use official logos, characters or card artwork as platform branding. See our Brand Safety & Rights Holder Information page for the full position.
Questions, feedback, or want TopCut at your store? We'd love to hear from you while we're in early access.
